I've seen these personalized Christmas elves floating around the internet and I couldn't wait to check out my Dollar Tree to see if they had them in stock. I lucked out when I went in a couple days ago and they had just gotten them in that day. The lady working at the Dollar Tree told me they usually go really fast and even the lady in line behind me was buying some. I was really excited to find a boy and girl elf as well as a reindeer. These would make great Christmas gifts or a babies 1st Christmas gift. If you don't want to spend the money on Elf on the Shelf you could use these elves as well. This is a very inexpensive project and doesn't take up a lot of vinyl.
DIY Dollar Tree Personalized Elf and Reindeer using Cricut
SUPPLIES:
- Vinyl Cutting machine (Such as Cricut Explore Air Machine)
- 14.5 inch plush Elf (Sold at Dollar Tree)
- 8.5 inch reindeer (Sold at Dollar Tree)
- Heat transfer vinyl (white)
- Hair Straightener
DIRECTIONS:
1. Type names and insert images in Cricut Design Space. I used the font Bebas Neue.
2. Remember to mirror the image and set your dial to Iron On.
3. Place HTV on mat shiny side down and load into Cricut machine.
4. Weed out the vinyl using the Cricut weeding tool
5. Transfer the names and images on the elf and reindeer using a hair straightener. I used the highest setting on my straightener and only clamped it down for 5-10 seconds.
These turn out so cute and are very easy to make!
